Yea we had frost Monday and old man winter is creeping in. The fish at the feeder is nearly non exsistant except for the hybrid strippers they eat all the time so I guess this weekend I'll be pulling the feeder.

Getting in then smaller jigs make you think some serious cold water fishing coming. Nice tie John...

Leo- I'll slip float them on 4lb test or cast them without a float on 2lb test .Yes I may have to add some shot up ahead of the jig for better casting distance.

Leo ,a Mammoth huh !?Ha ha! David -I think these 'swimming jigs' would be good late spring / summer/early fall ,fished with a swimming retreive .I want to try tieing the blue parts up top make the sides black and the white belly to imitate a small herring .The Blue Jay feathers impress me for having the same colors.

Pretty nifty looking jigs. How do you expect to fish them for best effect?
Comment by Leo Nguyen on November 5, 2011 at 3:46pm
Do you have to add extra weight to this since it's so light, and the materials may create additional buoyancy? By the way, your tying method is much cleaner than mine. Mine looks like a mammoth.

Ha ha no I just tie that badly. Time for me to get lessons from the great tiers here!

Thes jigs do catch though.I havent fished these exact ones yet.
