Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Today's bait....Chartreuse 1" Minnow from Berkley tipped with LIve Cricket

It's working in the stained water where the brown cricket lacks the flash of attraction...

When my water does get stained after heavy runoff I like to go to this combination...........

LOL! Now that is truly and idea to improve upon. We use flashy jig heads to get the fish to pay attention. Looks like we have to put some neon minnows to ring the feeding bells a bit more.

Yes indeed Dick....best way to find out if you're on to something in my opinion....

You're right on John...I have a jar full of beads and my personal favorite is a red ones that I have experienced success with....Just anything that will draw their attention to the bait I'm presenting is a good thing.....I fish a lot of blackwater and look for the sun to help me when I'm fishing those waters as well....

Have you also tried a small spinner/clevis/bead with the cricket ?Lighter for the fish to pick up no in cold water. What do ya think?

I just have a couple spots John that I lose confidence in when they're stained from heavy rains and the subsequent runoff......You probably miss a few fish that grab the minnow but the pros out weigh the cons in my opinion......

Confuse them ,then catch 'em . I like that!
