Ya know Dick , Jeffrey was the fella who convinced me to start putting a little bit of red in the bugs. I do that every chance I get now. For years one of my only crappie baits was the GGGGGGGGGGreat old pattern called a MICKY FINN, which was originally a trout pattern streamer. Simple to make and deadly on Crappie. It was Yellow and Red calf tail or buck tail with a silver rib for the body. I started making with Marabou yyyyyyyyyears ago and just tryed my sons favorite color over at Ken't pond last fall and that of course was BLue. THEY WERE ABSOLUTE KILLERS ON THE GILLS AND CRAPPIES THERE.......

I'm thinkin right now I'd rather have your weather than mine but I think we are starting to make some ice here in Ohio. Maybe I might get out to fish after all.

Interestingly enough Dick, sometimes that subtle little bit of color splash makes a world of difference......it has been proven over the years by many anglers in multiple applications.......It has been fun to experiment and see how the fish react, hardest part is to change from what the fish are hitting in an effort to test another color or combination......My intentions were good yesterday but I stuck with the same shrimp pattern all day since it caught a couple fish and I'm only getting out weekly right now.......It's all good though!

I know pink is in there as one of your favorites. Tooty does some good work can't help but admire them. I'm thinkin I need to see if he'll share his recipe I like the way he incorporates the red into them.

I need the peace of mind knowing I have plenty extras in the boat Dick.......several of these are already proven winners from last year.......
