Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I snapped this picture with the minnow still hanging out of the gill's mouth.....Fish are chunky and staging to go shallow......

And the fishing starts out with a big-un.

This fish was caught a year ago tomorrow and we are just a few degrees behind the water temperatures from that day.....Last winter was very mild and we reached the high 50s by the end of March in 2012....

Jeffrey your back in the groove nice one.

On one hand I'm tempted to ask Leo if he could analyze that liquid and tell me what it's comprised of, but on the other hand I'm half afraid to find out.

That stuff is nasty. Especially after it soaks your tackle box, then spends a week closed up in the sun. You want to be sure and turn your head when you open the lid after that.

Yeah, Tony, thats why I haven't opened them yet! I've been eager to check them out, but I'm very familiar with the Berkley Gulp "Magic Gravy," having messed around with it last season.
It can get pretty funky, once it escapes from the container. I started putting the jars inside a second ziplok bag, on the chance that the goo might get out somehow. Ill probably do the same with these in the packets, too. I already do it with other scent infused soft baits.

I didn't know they came in bags, mine are in jars. I have terrible luck with the ziplocks on resealable bags, apparently I am incapable of operating such a complex device. At least that's what my wife pokes fun at me over.

I can only imagine what my tackle box would look and smell like once I opened a bag of Gulp Minnows.......

I have not tried the white minnows Dink.....don't believe I've seen them either....

The little bags are resealable David and as Tony stated, make sure you close it up tight...The fluid is like an oil and it's hard to get the odor out once it soaks in.....

Mine are the ones in the little resealable packet - 12 of the things in a ziplok baggie.

I hope its resealable.

Make sure the jar's lid is screwed down TIGHT. When they leak inside your tackle box, it presents ample opportunity to expand your vocabulary. Not to mention what those minnows shrivel up into when exposed to air.......
