Thank you guys, this was actually last summer though. The water was crystal clear so I could see every move the fish made...ended up landing a few of these bruiser bluegill and some really nice bass on the fly. There was one HUGE bluegill that would have easily taken state record that kept taking interest in my fly but not enough to actually eat it! Can't wait to go back next year and try again.
