Kelly…

“When you say thermocline break are you talking where the bottom and thermocline meet?

Exactly… most of the deep natural lakes stratify with a thermocline during these hot calm sunny days like we are experiencing now here in mid-michigan… commonly 17-20 foot deep like on this new lake ive added to my list. I find the depth on my charts with the widest contours at that mark and start there. It’s amazing how many fish I see stacked up here on the sonar… then I vertically jig and Long-Cast the heck out of the area.

I posted a discussion in “Pattern Rigging and Presentation For Bluegill” called “Fishing The Thermocline Break” check it out.

Agree, the Lil Minnow is what I turn to these days. Have them in several colors with the clear chartreuse being really good lately. Just picked some up in the 2.25" version.

thanks Kelly... yep this lake really responds to the chartreuse on the sunny bright days.... yep ive had really great luck on the 1" Gulp Minnow... i have the same or better results on the Lil Minnow in replacement.

Wow, dandy one there, is that a chartreuse Gulp waxie? I've used the natural and pink, not the green yet. But I've had good luck with the chartreuse Gulp 1" minnow in some places.
