Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Bluegill I caught on an "Orange Nymph" that I tied. It's got an odd coloration on it's breast. Lavender instead of the usual yellow/orange.

That is a beautiful gill . I have caught a few over the years that were almost rose colored on the breast area. I never knew what made them that color.

Lee, the feeder creek for this pond is probably only runs one river mile upstream, if that.  It's mostly yard runoff from a neighborhood a couple hundred yards away.  It's possible that it's spring-fed, but I don't know for sure.

Now that's a handsome looking Buck. I see your fly just can't make it out.

Pretty Fish, some of the spring runs and spring fed lakes I fish have a high mineral/salt content and the bream get almost turquoise with purples and lavender hues. I'll have to look for pictures.
