Do you love big bluegill?

This was the biggest trout of the day and a good one to end on.

Yes Native Brook Trout are special .They exist in some small streams near me and I've caught natives but they are very small up to maybe 8-9 " . In my wild youth I caught and ate some and was impressed with the pink fillets and taste from their environment .

Just browns in this stream John. The water temps in Clear Creek get too warm for rainbows and brookies. The browns can tolerate slightly warmer temps than the other trout, so there is minimal survival in this stream from year to year. It just doesn't have the conditions to let these fish grow big, a 12" fish is really nice for this place. It's the southern-most of three streams the ODNR stocks 6-8" brown trout each fall. There's a couple tiny streams in northern Ohio with some native brookies, but they're a state listed threatened species.

The jumps are great and hats off the fish that gets off! You learn where they lie and like to feed so all is not lost!

Pretty Brown .Any Rainbows and/ or  Brook Trout in that water Adam?

Love seeing trout. Very nice length. Must be in the process of fattening up.
