Thanks Mark saw your and saw you minnows you do good also but was wondering what size hook you used and if you found any way to make them smaller.  Mine are on a 2x short #8 hook and would like to make them smaller but have not had much luck at it yet.

Dick I make those eyes with different size nail heads and Liqueur paint.  The trick is to get just a dab of paint on the largest nail head you will be using and just the head, if you rotate the nail between your finger and thumb it will form a tiny bubble and when you touch the bug just the touch the paint don't let the nail head touch.  When you pull the nail away it will form a small convex dot.  Let that dry, which won't take long them repeat with next smaller nail and a different color. I'm afraid I have made this sound to hard it really very easy.  As for the body I hand carve and sand them out of balsa sticks and again it is vary easy and quick but remember after sand to shape you want soak in instant glue to make the balsa hard then finish.
