david, it's true that 80%, the fish spot the silhouettes at an angle of 90° to 65° , and decipher what's floating above. Trouts, salmons, and shallow curious swimmer tend to be picky on what they're snatching at the water's surface, so, they hunt roughly at 35° and less, with the shallow depths between 2 to 4ft, with the distant of 4ft to 10ft. Researchers noted that they can see vivid colors at this level. So, color schemes will help to entice them more. Not sure about panfish. Not much studies done about them.

Are the bumble bees tied from using foam ear plugs?

Great looking flies Jim. I have found  both styles of flies work great for catching bluegills. In my neck of the woods, a tan, spider/mayfly with legs work great, while orange round bodied flies are killers also.  Those black spiders should catch some large bluegill.

curious Jim, is that black marker around the bumble bee flies? Great attracting color schemes.

Those are really awesome bugs.  that blue and white color combos is one of my favorites and biggest producers around here.  all look like they will slay some gills though, good job!
