Thanks Cal. You must be talking about the aberdeen wire hook? Looks like waxies are still slabs' favorites.

thanks guys..

hey leo i use a tiny wire hook.. probally the smallest they make but its a long shank.. the reason i use one like this is because fishing around stumps and dead trees . you tend to get caught on them ocassionally but with these hooks you can grab your line and give it a slow steady pull and 90% of the time the hook will kinda straighen out and come free.. bend your hook back and you are in business again without having to retie or loosing your rig.

as far as hooking the waxies.. i just thread 2 waxies on the hook usually tail first..

Mark, you have to try waxies. They are fun to use. I have a closet full of them right now, breeding continually in waves for fishing actions. Imagine a #8 circle hook loaded with 3 waxies, wiggling like crazy, dangling near a school of fish. Dinner bell! Same goes for the mealworms.

Nice mess Cal!  Never tried wax worms for crappie but I am definitely adding it to my bucket list

Cal, what was the hook size and type that was used, and how you hooked the waxies? I'm always curious about how many different type of hooks were used to catch these beauties.
