Thanks Larry for your flashback goes to show it not always greener on the other side of the fence but if not for people like you people like me would go nuts. These places like you had are really getting harder to find without going way up north like Canada. Thanks for your story again we do have people who really don't realize the work that goes into something like this to make it good for the vacationer it not all automatic there is much work required. Again Thanks

Part 2

Naturally he was not agreeing with me on the bait issue. I found a white rag and said now we have bait. He laughed at me said I was nuts so I told him I'll catch the first one and we can use the cheeks and eyes from there. I knew the cheeks and eyes worked cause when we would be on Lake Erie that's what Dad would use so we could stay out longer after running out of shiners. I put a couple small pieces of that white rag on the hooks and let it down to the bottom them reeled up 3 turns. Bang a bite and I set the hook nothing there. I could feel them hit the rag. Ted he was laughing at me and saying I told you so then just after he finish saying so bang and I set the hook and guess what he was no longer laughing. To this day he talks about it. We then set up our lines with the eyes and cheek meat and we were catching fish left and right as long as we caught fish we had bait. Our hour was up and Ted was next up so we pulled in the anchor and headed to the layout boat Ted saying the whole way the ducks ain't flying I'd rather be fishing. We got to the layout boat Ken gets into the tender boat and says were did all them perch come from we didn't have any bait. We told him what happened and how we found his fishing pole stash it was all downhill from there. I think we were out about 5 hours and started pulling decoys and the layout. Took about an hour or so to do that. We headed back to the boat launch and on the way we had over 150 perch. DUCKS 0 PERCH 150 good day fishing. Ted and Ken still talk about that day today just goes to show what you can accomplish when you are determined and a little determination takes over. We made something better out of a good situation. By the way when I had my turn in the layout boat what great nap I had bobbing up and down with the waves simply great. By the way thanks John Sheehan for reviving this memory. Funny how talking to people about different things gets the fluids flowing. I really have been blessed with great people around me in my life. Great fishing and hunting partners with many years of memories. I have so many precious memories and seems the older we get and can't do what we use to the more we flashback on them. I'm sure that one day that's all we'll have is memories so we need cherish those moments in time which is easy when that's all you have left. Thankfully I'm still not to that time of my life I'm still making memories and many with you people from BBG. Wished I could spend a day with everyone of you. I know them would also be memorable moments in time people in all walks of life enjoying one single goal FISHING.

Must have wrote to long sorry

Part 1

Sorry I have to take this story out of sequence after talking to John Sheehan about perch fishing it got my juices flowing and this popped up in my thought process one of then hidden memories in time. This was back when I use to Duck hunt 30 or so years ago. We would hunt and hunt hard well maybe not all that hard but they were good and memorable times. There were 3 of us and for the sake of not wanting to offend anybody I changed the names although I really don't think they would mind. We worked as a crew we had it down to a science and it always went off like clockwork minus some pinched fingers and maybe almost getting knocked out while loading the layout boat back up into the tender boat. We would set out the layout boat 1st and from there we get our wind direction and we would throw the decoys out. We would throw out about 100 to 150 decoys in the front of the layout boat with a void in the center for the ducks to hover in for a landing. We would draw straws to get the order for who would be in the layout boat 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This particular day Ken was 1st. He owned the tender boat. He got in the layout and when he got laid down and comfortable Ted and I pulled away from the layout. We anchored about a half mile away so we could monitor everything waiting to be back to the layout if need be. We would always anchor and wait for an hour till the next persons turn. We sat and watched and the ducks were not flying this day and boredom overtook us and we were really bored. I said lets catch some perch. Ted chuckled and said we don't have any poles. Well this is a boat so we searched around and we found a few poles. Then Ted says we don't have any bait. I said have faith we have all kinds of bait so I had to think to myself did I speak to soon and put my foot in my mouth.

LOL Hm..how about the carps' harvesting fund? Every $1 they make from harvesting the carps, we get $0.20? Man..how long would that take.
