The world record blue cat in the pic is 143 pounds from Kerr Lake on the Virginia/N Carolina border. This is also a great crappie and striper lake.

Bowfin, mudfish, grinnel, swamp pike...I have heard them called lots of names. Virginia has a lot of them, and they get big. This is my biggest at 30 inches and 10 pounds, caught in the James River fishing for blue cats. Great fight, even on heavy gear!

James River right?....I heard about it but I haven't seen it...I know the Rock Fish record was broken in Virginia a few weeks back as well...if you get a chance Bobby, BBG Jim Gronaw, also a member of this group, did a good write up on the James River Blue Catfish...good read!
