Comment by Jim Gronaw on January 29, 2012 at 5:06pm: Bowfin, mudfish, grinnel, swamp pike...I have heard them called lots of names. Virginia has a lot of them, and they get big. This is my biggest at 30 inches and 10 pounds, caught in the James River fishing for blue cats. Great fight, even on heavy gear!
