I had the tremendous opportunity to do a little fishing while visiting my mother in Alabama. The weather was great, snakes were in hideout mode, the banks were pretty safe. My cousin took me to this…Continue

Welcome joe, Glad to have ya! sounds like a good day John. I went wednesday, caught about 10 crappie. Only one was good size. Also caught about a 2lb bass. But the best catch was while jigging crappie, a buddy of mine caught a 6lb carp, heck of a fight on 12ft jigging pole

Ha ha ,Joe! Went bank fishing today in the pouring cold October rain ( North New Jersey). The fishin' was good! Slip floatin' 16th oz  Yellow Marabou Red head Jig and White baitfish imitator 32nd oz jig both tipped with crawler pieces . Several yellow Perch ,one  fine White Perch and Several Male and Female Gills .All fish fought hard!

Can't swim, don't float ! Best place for me is on the bank. It's where I've always fished .

Glad to have you John. I have the same ideas as you. I think a lot people have lost the joy in fishing. It has, to many, became like so many other hobbies, taken way too seriously. Bluegill fishing should be relaxing and enjoyable. That is why I love to panfish, I enjoy it. It seems when I bass fish with friends, it is always a competition. And from the bank, no one can back boat you, if you are more catching fish.............Dwayne

When I look back, my most memorable fishing has been done from the bank enjoying nature.  Bruce  hit it on the head, bank fishing for bluegills is one of the simple pleasures of life and yes, I am an old geezer who enjoys a nice relaxing day of fishing without the headaches which routinely come with boats, ramps, motors, trailers and such!
