i have had that same thing happen to me. so i cut a slit in a bobber and epoxyed a hook in it. i have landed a few pickerel like that. i will find the bobber and take a picture of it for you guys. also the pickerel should destroy the bass bugs :)

I have had them hit my bobbers while fishing for sunnies and perch so i am going to tie up some Bass bugs and give them a try with the fly rod I have a 8 foot orvis 8 wt that should work fine

We were fishing perch from the shanty in about 10 feet of water could clearly see bottom and I had a N. pike that would have gone well over 10 pounds that small hook on a #1 swedish pimple did not hold her, It was fun for a few moments
