The 1/16 oz model has been out of production for 3 years now, and word has it that the 1/8 oz model is also on its way out. On a brighter side, the Swedish Pimple and Kastmaster spoons are still readily available, and will do the job.

I believe the 1/16 oz Rattle Flash is discontinued.  You might find yours in a discontinued bin at a sports shop.  I have a bunch of different colors but ususlly reach for a blue/silver or gold(brass)/orange combo.  I would try a glow color under dark water or sky conditions.

Been trying the Spoon Chucking thing for a week or so.  Catching some of the best of the year.  Haven't seen an honest 9" gill here in a couple years but I'm getting close.  Using a Pimple with great success.  I've taken nicer gills, bass, crappie, pike and pickerel by tipping with Gulp minnow.

Spent yesterday morning throwing spoons in southern Wl. and had 60 to 70 gills .Nothing huge but we did get some bonus bass and a nice northern pike.1/16 ounce orange pimple and 1/16 ounce orange and silver rattle flash worked for us.Water was 72 deg ,fish are 90 percent done spawning.

I figured it was time to jump in, and join up here. Especially after reading Bill's article, and realizing that my ice fishing lure box already has what is needed for spoonin'. I like the concept of using heavier lures in deep water. Must more interesting than dunking live bait on plain hooks all the time like I used to.
