Looking for info.

Would like some info on kayaks. I told myself never happen because your setting so low. Now I see they have done wonders with the seats so my interest is back somewhat. I would love to check into them as far as comfort which ones I should be looking at and maybe a propulsion system foot or small electric. Again Just looking for now with a couple back surgeries I want to look long and hard. Strictly for fishing.

Just a couple of quick tips that work for me for a few bucks you can buy a water tight container that will clip with a cord to your yak that will keep your camera safe and dry I keep a layer of paper towels to help with any mosture. So now there is no reason not to have all kinds of great pictures to post

i just finished this 15' ply wood canoe i got for free the guy i got it from said he did something wrong. but come to find out all that it need done was a paint job. after about a week of painting i was able to take it out on Sunday. i tried to fish off of it with absence of and an anchor and the very windy conditions it was difficult. the next calm day i will go out and catch some gills

I just realized I don't have a picture of my kayak. I'll take one and post it on the next comment. I hunt and fish out of my Wilderness System Pungo. Ii's all camouflaged up because I use it for duck hunting but have discovered how much fun and good it is for fishing. Been having a lot of fun hunting big bluegills and redbellies out of it here in N. Florida.

Stealth mode! YEAH! :-D Toss the spinning rig you're having problems with, and go to a fly rod. Lots of fun, more challenging (if you don't over-rig), and, if you use barbless hooks, the fish hook themselves - you don't have to wind down and try to rip their lips off. :-)

Received the kayaks and took them out fishing. Pretty cool! A few things I noticed. You can get right up on them without spooking the fish. My spinning rod with the long butt is a little awkward with the fisherman life vest. You can't set the rod as forcefully as you can if you were on bank or a big boat. You can kayak without really getting wet. Kayaking is pretty neat! It is peaceful and tranquil.

You should consider putting an anchor trolley on both sides of your yak. With this set-up, you can get whatever angle you want on your target area, whether you want to cast downstream or up or crosscurrent. I generally use a mushroom for mine in still or slow waters, and have had no problems, but - if you habitually paddle in faster waters (whitewater, etc.) - you might want a bruce anchor.

Hello everyone! I've wanted a kayak for years. Went kayaking last weekend with wife. Ordered two Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100s outfitted for fishing on Wednesday. Also, ordered the fisherman PFD and paddle with measurements on it as well as a couple extra rod holders (two spinning, one baitcasting, one fly rod). Hope to have them early next week. Interested in any tips, etc. you can share. :)

Fished all weekend from my kayak I am impressed. We camped on a small lake in central vermont That lale is full of fish. Except for the wind the kayak worked great.

I've been using a Prowler 13 (anchor trolley both sides) since last November. Loads of fun! Good platform for my fly rods.
