I rarely catch Bluegil unless I use a crawler piece tipped on a small Jig or spoon . But here are a few exceptions:

hey guys i know i might not be the best source but for me my go to bait for gills is either live worms or gulp alive maggots( pink). i use them simply under a bobber with a small split shot and a 6 to a size 8 or 9 hook depending on the condition.

The Humminbird SmartCast RF-25 Rod Mount with Remote Sonar Sensor (RSS) allows bank-bound anglers to enjoy the same advantages boat anglers rely on with their fish finders. The RSS wireless technology provides accurate temperature and light conditions within 150' operating range, and the data is easily viewable on the compact 48V x 32H display. This easy-to-use SmartCast RF-25 system simply mounts to your rod for optimal line-of-sight viewing. Accommodates rod sizes from .35'' to .50'' diameter.
Get a $10 rebate with the purchase of a Humminbird® SmartCast® RF-25 Rod Mount with RSS! Click here for details and to print coupon. Offer good on purchases made between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.

I'm incredibly impressed with the amount of information being accumulated by unselfish people such as yourself. I regret that I've been too busy lately to ready every word...but you can bet I will soon! :-)
