Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering what everyones favorite lure to use to catch bluegills is. I would have to say my personal favorite is gitzit lil tough guys with a piece of worm or something on it and a float the bluegills and panfish hit pretty good on them.
Let me know what your favorite lure is
Thanks

Without a doubt my favorite lure for big bluegill is a Kelly's Bluegill Worm in catalpa color. One trick you can do to make it more attractive if the fish want a little flash is to cut off the leader and attach an inline spinner from a Joe's Fly spinner. Crappie seem to be especially fond of the spinner addition. You will also pick up the occasional bass on this rig. If the artificials are not producing I will usually go with live waxworms under a float.
ITs been a while Since Ive seen this thread! Im going to take the opportunity to voice my opinion again!

CRICKETS CRICKETS CRICKETS CRICKETS CRICKETS!
Without sounding biased, I use my own Wade's Blade 98% of the time. Tip one of the size #8 hooks with a waxworm, is hard to beat! I've fished Reelfoot Lake in TN and Kentucky Lake. Everywhere I go this combination catches lots of fish.

I know there are a lot of guys who swear by crickets, but I think they would "Change their mind" if they tried this once.

Waxworms seem to be going up in price though. But Berkley Gulp maggots work well also, and mealworms are always good too.

Not sure what your guys take is on color preference, but find that Black & Pumpkin are two of my favorite colors for gills. Depends on the water clarity and the fish's mood.

I must say that i catch way more fish in southern california using straight crickets. If it doesn't get them i'll throw a beetle spin with just the jighead and put a cricket on that. Also small jigheads tipped with crickets work well in some occasions. Overall crickets are my #1
MIne has got to be anything resembling a small minnow. A good one is the 1 inch gulp alive minnow in emerald shiner and chartreuse
Beetle spin never ever gone wrong with a beetle spin and on fly rods either a small popper or foam spider
