Do you love big bluegill?
Line Twist
I noticed today that my tippet was twisting casting those size 8 and 10 spiders. Would something larger like 4x or 3x spook the gills?

i feel if they are top yhey are pretty agressive.i will use 6 or 4 lb mono in green seems to spook them less

i think line twist is a price you pay when using any fly with rubber legs

BRUCE;; GOING TO BIGGER SPIDERS AND THINGS LIKE THEM; WONT SPOOK THE BLUE GILLS;; BUT THE SPIDERS WILL STILL TWIST;; ITS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THATS JUST GOING TO HAPPEN !

Yep, guys, I agree, I see no alternative. A bug that big is going to twist the tippet. Not a big deal.
When trout, on the other hand, are hot on chasing streamers you can get away with 2x or 3x tippet.
