Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My husband and I are fishing a private lake, the gills have really slowed. Any suggestions on how to entice them?

One of the most simple but effective ways that I locate gills in the fall in local ponds is to 'wind drift' small 1/ 64th oz jig heads tipped with bait at varying depths until fish are located. Sometimes they are 4 ' in the water column and sometimes they are much deeper...all depending on the dynamics and depth and characteristics of your pond. On warmer days fish may be suspended closer to the surface, and on colder days they may be more bottom oriented.

Hope this helps Jim
