Do you love big bluegill?

This is such a great unit that ive had already for two seasons and yet each time i take it out on a trip i feel like ive learned something new. i will be posting hints tips and tricks and screenshot interpretations as i grow with this unit. hopefully we can all learn from each other on the same or similar units.

i basically only use it with te elite 4 a very small compact FF. i also use it looking at maps etc with my Elite 7 .. it lasts 4 ever with the Elite 4 a much smaller unit

i only use the Elite 4 on the Kayak

can anyone spot the fish in this picture?

Quite a bit of a handful on the left. It appears to have  few hugging the bottom. Either scattered weeds on the right, or very small fishes. Lots of static noises and small baitfishes/frys at the top. 14:14hrs, at 74.9F, roughly at 18.5ft, they should be actively gorging, rather than suspending.

Looks like the bottom has a very hefty sediment buildup. Is it near an eluvial sandbar or delta/inlet?

caught a few crappies out of this school lightly drifting and vertically jigging over the school with a ice jig and 1 inch gulp minnow.... very light bite .... lost a tank at the net 15+... but something was wrong i could feel it. well after talking with some locals they applied herbicide just days prior. . what you see on the bottom is weed beds knocked down from its effect. great timing on my part. new lake with poor results.

my chart and someone else s sketch. i really had a different image in my mind on how downscan imaging worked... until now

i have countless images or screenshots of bluegill shooting up to my boat and i am able to catch them on a slip bobber set usually 2-3 ft in over 20 ft of water.... anybody willing to guess why the fish are responding in this way... i believe i have the answer.

Clear water, suspended at 15 to 20ft, looking up, and wanting to gorge since nothing is down below. They just hovered, looking up for a good sinking meal. Awesome image.
