Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

assuming you have a boat.... Of course everyone knows that fish can be caught without one.

Anyway, this is my Yamaha G3 V143, 14ft aluminum. And BTW, this "IS" my high performance bass (and bluegill, and every other species) boat :-) And crazy as it sounds, this is my "dreamboat" chosen out of probably a hundred small aluminum boat designs I checked out on the Internet.
Sure, I'd like to have a 150 ft yaught I could live on / go to Hawaii or Alaska on.... but for all of my freshwater fishing, this is it for me.

In fact, it's kind of a funny story;
I actually became sponsored by Yamaha G3 three years ago. Now, they didn't exactly "give" me my boat, motor, and trailer, for totally free..... but they did give me a REALLY good deal. Sorry, I can't disclose the price. But anyway, first they wanted a resume`, photos, checked out my website, my writings, yada, yada. So finally, after all that, they said, "Yes, we will sponsor you. So, what boat do you want" ? And so I told them... (the one I'm posting here) To which they replied, "That's it ??? .....but you realize we will give you that same large % off any boat we make, right" ? Well sure, I assumed.... but I'm just not into big, heavy gas guzzlers. I want something that will let me > fish as much as possible, and work, as little as possible to pay for that fishing ;-)
So they were like..... Uhhh.... Okay. That is a nice > little < boat ;-) LOL

Anyway, with no further ado....

You can see the wide open (no benches) layout, better in this shot....

So, that's my baby... Lets see yours....

Peace,
Fish

I have a 16 Tracker Super Guide with a 40 horse. It's a deep vee and it's set up well for what I do. But... I've been searching for my dream boat too. I looked at G3. Their Panfish stick steer is layed out well but not roomy enough for me. I'm getting a War Eagle 745 VS, that's my dream panfishing boat.
Right on guys :-) Thank you for the replies. All quite workable solutions.
Looks like you all have it worked out, to get yourself where you need to be :-)

Peace,
Fish
I use an Outcast Fat Cat float tube most of the time and have a Osagian 17' flat bottom canoe w/8 hp Mariner that sits patiently almost all the time.
IceWarriorGill- Oh man!! That is a sweeet ,functional, looking yak . (DROOL)
lol ole Mike
I use an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13, rigged with rod holder and anchor trolleys. Sneaks up on 'em pretty well. Take a look either at my av or see it on my page.
I bought this little rig a couple of weeks ago. She's a 1974 Queencraft 14 footer with a 35 horse Evinrude, I've only had her out once, but she runs great!

I fish out of a 14ft Alumacraft (light) wirh a 6hp Nissan. I fish alot of "river/lakes as we call them in texas. I would like a smaller boat but my nine grandchildren will not hear of it. I would like to hear about the differences between aluminum and fiberglass boats. any opinions out there? This is my first attempt at using a computer so I hope this gets through to someone. Thanks for listening.
You got through loud and clear, Fred. I have 16 Grandkids, so I also have a 24 ft pontoon boat. I can't tell much difference in fishing from an aluminum or FG boat, as long as it has a good trailer and appropriate power. We have some of those "river/lakes" around here too. Probably just got named before they knew what they were looking at.
I don't have a pic, but my boat is a 19' lowe roughnech, rigged with a 70hp Johnson 4 stroke & a Minn Kota - Rip Tide, bow mount, 55# thrust
Here's my rig, which serves as my duck boat and my fishing boat. It is a Wilderness System Pungo 12 foot. I love it.

I have a 2003 17' Lund explorer console, with a 50hp Johnson. This does the trick just fine for me. Can take three people and still have room for any other little things we may want to take along. Will have to take a picture of it and post in the future.
I have a 14 foot Nader built in Webster City, Iowa in 1959. The company is no longer around but it is still going strong. The layout is just like a basic Lund that one rents when in Canada. I love my "old blue."
