Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Just got back from a week fishing at Lake Naomi, PA. I decided to use a Mr. Crappie pole rigged with one pound test, a single BB split shot and a # 32 tanago hook. The hooks were amazing. I was able to catch 100 plus bluegill and well as 5 YOY bass over a three day period. All fish were in the 2-4 inch range and all were C and R.

How about that - you actually liked catching 2" fish.
I'm just kidding, of course. I honestly wouldn't knew what to do with a hook that small. I probably couldn't even see it.

Dave

The hooks are snelled with about 1.5 feet of line. I attach using a loop to loop connection.

dang can you see a hook that size ?

3x glasses help

I have never seen a size 32 hook before. What did you use for bait on a hook that small?

Little Atom Micro plastics. I use a razor to cut each piece about 1.5 mm. I've added a picture of the equipment

I hope this might be a better picture of the set up

DO THEY MAKE 20X GLASSES FOR US OLE TIMERS?

NICE SHOT OF THE GEAR JOE. MAN MICRO IS RIGHT !!!!!!!!

The nice thing is that once your baited, the plastic will usually last for about 20+ fish. Usually the hook will catch the lips. So far I've had zero gut hooks.
