Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

What makes us different?  Because we are older, are we wiser? Because we have made more mistakes, are we more accurate?  Because we don't move so well, are we more stable?  Would anyone rather be in the Geezer Group than any other? Do we catch more fish?  How?

We have more stories due to being geezers...........both true and imagined.

Old geezers are teachers, we are fun to watch!!!!!! But you don't have to be old to do that!!!!! I am training kids on my job that are younger than I was when I started!!!!!!! Jacob Hill could fall in the geezers group he is old to kids just starting to fish and would be a great teacher!!!!!! Some of US OLD GEEZERS NEVER GROW UP!!!!!!!

Right on Greg

Great discussion started here !!!!!!! Here's my slant on being a Geezer.... No. 1 item is I"m not in such a hurray anymore !!!!!

If I get up late it's because couldn't sleep due to thinking about fishing the next day or my back, shoulder or neck bothering me again, ( JUST GOES WITH THE TERRITORY I GUESS)..

#2 I DO love being a teacher to those that will listen, NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE WITH KIDS UNDER 50 HOWEVER, many of em think they know more than we do...
#3 A certain amount of respect SOMETIMES  is paid to us just because of our ADVANCED YEARS ON EARTH.. Sometimes the respect is earned sometimes just a Myth !!!!!!!!!!

#4 Lastly when Old Geezers get together it's usually a laugh fest because most of us have learned to laugh at ourselves and the mistakes we've made in life and fishing. IT'S ONLY A MISTAKE IF YOU DON'T LEARN FROM IT ......

You are an old geezer when you have to wear a face shield when you clip your toenails, to keep the flying projectiles from putting an eye out!! Only true old geezers would understand this one.......

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHA HHHHHHHHHA VINCE HOW RIGHT YOU ARE...........

Not sure about the older, wiser or catching more fish. Maybe the big thing we Geezers have in common is a little more patience & tolerance at least when it comes to fishing ( the government's another story.) Right now I'm happy just catching bluegill with my grandson @ the local lake. The fly fishing trips or the deep sea fishing are just not as much fun as a day at the lake.

Papa

They may be snow on the roof, but there's still a fire in the furnace!

HEY PAPA there is snow on my roof too and getting ttttttttttttthinned out now though! My grandson isn't interested in fishing yet, but both of my older Granddaughters are and they both cast like pro's . When my sons were growing up I used to tell em ,some day you'll both have kids and it will teach you patience just like it has me . THey didn't know then what I was talking about then , but they do now........

Yeah most of the snow got blown off my roof some years ago.Oh well I heard women like bald men. Teaching your grandchildren the joys of fishing is a great life lesson and one of those simple pleasures that they will also remember.

what little is left on my roof gets shaved off no way i pay a barber for half a haircut every 3 weeks plus my grandkids like to rub the top of grampas head for good luck when we get in the boat not sure how much it helps but we do catch a few gills and  crappie ev ery time
