squirrel hair leach. ..size 6, 8, 10  black or olive

Yellow craft foam spiders on #10  but also 14,12,&

poppers-1/4" dia. cork or craft foam made by using a paper hole punch and glueing 3 disks to form a cylinder and gluening on a #12 hump shank hook and adding desired tails and or hackles. Legs work well also.

McGinty soft hackle on a @10    also 8 and 12

Blind Squirrel on size 10......Up to size 6 ...This is a good bass and carp fly as well. It will catch most anything that will eat a nymph or small crawdad.

I will have to try the squirrel leach. I only have natural though.

Ray do you have picture for us people who's imaginations don't work well me being at the top of that list.

I am not trying to put you off but I am new here and not real puter savy. You can google the McGinty and the Blind Squirrel. If you will be more specific with your questions I will try to give you better instructions.

The spider is very simple. easier to tie than explain. The popper is simple too as is the McGinty. The blind squirrel is the most complicated and I don't do complicated so it is not too difficult either. Just let me know and I will be more specific on any or all.

As you I'm an unputer savvy person. I was thinking usually pictures are worth more that a thousand words but not a problem either way. Hope you enjoy the site lots take in so set back and enjoy.

My typing skills are much better than my puter skills.I am afraid that I am a terrible speller but I normallly am able to get thoughts transfered to others in an understandable manner so feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Last year, I had just started fly fishing and tying flies.  I had several GFA Hopper patterns that would get absolutely SLAMMED by Bluegill, Green Sunnies, and Hybrid Sunnies.  I also made several Bead Chain Wooly Buggers in olive, those caught all sorts of things, the afore-mentioned sunnies as well as LMB's.  I think the fish thought they were dragonfly nymphs.

Last Fall I tied up several Furled Extended Body Deer Hair caddis flies, size 12 and 16.  Those were good, until the weather cooled off.

I have since tied many different nymph and midge patterns.  I'm just waiting for the water to start to warm back up.

I have seen a lot of sunnies swimming around under a Crappie dock at my local lake.  I have not tied to catch any on a fly yet.

I just love watching a bluegill rise to a popper.
