Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here are some pictures of a few gills that were caught over the weekend at my grandma's place...

And here is a twelve inch redear my buddy hooked up with...

Here is the only gill I was able to hook up with on Saturday...

I can say you have an impressive amount of nice fish and great pictures to boot. Thank you for sharing your quality fish with us.

They might have been on the beds, might have gotten more if you could find where they're nesting. Nice fish though, looks like a real nice place.

Thanks, I feel very lucky to have such a nice population of gills in my grandma's pond.

They are just starting to get on their beds.  I know where most of the bedding areas are located and I am going to see what I can catch here over the next couple of weeks.

Looks like there might be a slick on the water behind you in the photo. Is there a nesting area nearby?

There is one not far off from the dock, but I always figured the sheen on the water was from the coal leftover in the pit.

Beautiful, hidaway place to fish! Enjoy it!

Here is another gill I caught at my grandma's place on Saturday afternoon...

I don't think they are quite on their beds yet.  I'm hoping once they get on the beds I can hook up with a really nice one, and then I can get some measurements to have a replica made.
