Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Fishing tackle that looks like jewelry. Bright polished silver/gold reels, reel seats etc.. Tackle should be stealthy. Especially the parts that go thru the most motion ! Trend last few yrs stinks ! When we trout fish in Penn hills for brookies we wear camo ! Gotta sneak up on the vermints ! This tuff is NOT helping ! Gotta buy another roll of camo tape. steve b

I'm with you on this one Steve... The fishing rod and reel should be camouflaged like a snipers rifle. Stealth and very subtle wading can make the difference between a good day and a bad one.

I don't even think about it! I always have brown, black or dark green rods! Reel is small for fish to see! I perfer to wear natural color clothes like comouflaged, brown or green! Brown or green cap! Walk slow and keep low! Never wear bright yellow or white but I wear yellow lifejacket when I go on kayak for my safe sake..... not trust boats!
Thanks to you guys, now I'm going to have to camouflage my face when fishing for the biggest bluegill! :-)
when I go fishing I like to wear a light blue shirt on nice days ,fish tell me I look just like sky when they look up, Now I'm looking for waders that have crickets or minnow prints on the legs so they think I'm chuming, good idea till you meet a snapping turtle, Seriously , what I see turn fish off is someone moving by me with a trolling motor, sound travels 5 times faster and stronger in water than it does in air. Remember fish have ears, some red some green.
There was some camo offered some yrs back,hmmnnn... maybe LLBean's. Trout fishing or other fishing along wooded shores, calls for some kinda camo to break up outline. Need to apply some science beyond my ken here. Need camera/film that duplicates fish vision, to view from under water, up and out. Nobody except waterfowlers camoes their boats, and from underneath..dark flat color may be worse than white ! Wide open to research this I guess. The Bass tourney folks seem to get away with obnoxious colors... still, reels that are polished and get waved to and fro while casting seems counter productive. steve b
i agree that rods and reels dont need fancy colors, but some of my best bluegill and trout jigs have a small band around the top of the jig that looks like a necklace , they work great i like them alot , wish they were not 3.79 a piece
