Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hello every1, name is Angelo and im new to this site haven't had time to explore yet. I live in Southern NJ im 24yrs old and I fish alot with my wife every chance we get we are fishing together. I been fishing since I was 4yrs old and this past December I been fly fishing for bluegill's. Catching a Bluegill on 4-lb tippet on a fly is a great feeling. I also fish for pickerel, perch, largemouth, catfish, and carp. I don't know where this Discussion belong's so I just posted it here. Still browsing here

Welcome aboard Angelo!

Welcome to the site, Angelo!  Glad to have you here.

Hey ho, Angelo!

Another feather-and-tinsel man, eh?

Welcome Angelo, this is the greatest bunch of Bluegill jerkers anywhere. there are a lot of experience on fishing here at this forum. So sit a spell and just be one of the folks who love Bluegill fishing. And if you need anything just ask.   Vic

Yea, david love to catch bluegills on light tackle and the fly rod is the winner for that. Thanks everyone I like this site and people are friendly. Still looking around seeing people's forum etc.

Ive never really caught on to the fly rod, Angelo. Ive been kind of a swamper for most of my adult fishing life, or fished the salt while in the Navy. There isn't a lot of 'delicate' in the way I do things, although I'm slowly coming around. I have used fly rods in the past, but wont lie and say Im good at it. I can see the benefit for panfishing, however -  I tend to see them as more of a glorified spinning rod than anything else.

Maybe one day, guys like you will inspire me.

Thanks for joining and for contributing.

Hey David, Fly fishing is very rewarding watching your fly just getting bash from a big ol' bluegill, even get some decent bass to slam it. You are right casting took a little while but now it's a great feeling landing gill's on a nice warm day with 4-lb line!

Hello Angelo,my name is Don and i was on here today cause i havent been here in awhile, and ran across your post. I live right outside of Vineland over in Norma, im like 5 miles from Parvins state park. Would love to meet you so we can hook up and do some fishing. I sent you a friends request, so hopefully i will hear from you soon. And welcome to this site, its pretty cool place, lot of smart and helpful people on here.

Hey Angelo, welcome to the site and can't wait to see more pics. You can post this stuff anywere and I think we'll all see it eventually.  There are alot of old timers here and loooooots of young fellers like yourself and we all have a ball .
You  will undoubtedly have your own page and maybe start your own group like I did. Mine is called THE GOOD OLE DAYS, and guys generously post stuff on it from their youth and the stories are great .
