Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This year for Christmas, I told everyone I wanted Gift cards for Bass pro, So I can stock up on lures and tackle. Looking for bobbers, jigs and crankbaits. Need some advice on what works for you all. Thanks Dwayne

I love the Strike King "Bitsy Minnow" crankbaits Dwayne....They cast and fish nicely.....the weight of them allows you to suspend them during the retrieve which stimulates many bites from active bluegill....I catch many big gills on all colors with my two favorites Chartreuse and Blue combination and Gizzard Shad.......

Thanks jeff. I have been wanting to try them. I looked at the gizzard shad, while at walmart today. I am really looking forward to trying some crank bait fishing this year. I already have rod and reel setup for it.

My buddy and me started using these same little crankbaits this year with pretty good success and also tried some of the Rebel tiny crawfish in all colors. They will get the Redear bite pretty good but the best thing we threw at them that filled the basket was Rooster Tails, thrown at the bedding areas and then trolled all around the shallows. White and Chartruse seemed to be the best colors but all worked. Kmart has an off brand for around 6 dollars for 5 in an assortment pack. If you buy the Rooster tails they are around 3 bucks a pop or more. Good Fishing..
