Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Marisa's correct!...  I just got off the phone from talking to "Tom" at Angler's Pro Shop in Havasu, Az and it has been confirmed.  A  5.55 lb,  Redear has been caught at Lake Havasu today by Robert Lawler of Havasu while fishing a plastic worm for bass.  The fish measured 16.75 inches long and had a girth of 19 inched.  The Arizona State Game and Fish Dept measured and confirmed the catch and have determined that it is a Line-Class World Record Redear Sunfish.  The fish is to be mounted....   Now I want to see the photos!  Anyone want to go to Havasu with me?

YES!!! And I know the pics will be coming now... what an amazing experience that must have been! Better than any old bass... I'm going with live crayfish, and fishing from dusk until 9 am. [Dreaming here!] If I ever break 3 lb, I will be content. I am happy for the fisherman... he is a truly lucky man!
Wow! I definitely what to see photos of that beautiful monster :)

That's incredible!!  More information when available, please! :-)
It probably looks like a guitar with fins, never dreamed they could get that big.
Picture Please!!!!!!!!!!      Is there a NECULAR PLANT Close By??????????????????????
No, but there are a lot of Quagga Mussels that they feed on!
Yep, I knew no Cricket or Worm put that much weight in a Cracker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive always half expects some gargantuan monster like that to come out of the Savannah River Nuclear site someday. It is closed off from access to the public and has been since the early 50's. Add to that the whole leaking radiation angle and who knows?

Would not have expected in from Havasu.

Here it is.......The New Pending World Record Redear 5.55 lbs from Lake Havasu AZ.
