Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Four years ago today BROTHER BRUCE welcomed me to this site!!!!! Been a LEARNING EXPERIENCE!!! About Bluegill and the different ways to catch them!!!!! The different SPECIES, and the different names for them all around the COUNTRY!!!!!!!! I have learned to use a COMPUTER, a DIGITAL CAMERA, and how to POST THEM!!!!!!

I have met a lot of GREAT FOLK that share in my ADDICTION to catching them!!!!!!! I hope one day to meet many of them!!!!!!!

I am a FLY-ROD fisherman only!!!!!!! Also TYING FLIES, and over the last four year have met here some GREAT TIERS that have introduced me some GREAT GILL GETTERS!!!!! 

So for my BIRTHDAY I have assembled a collection of some of my GO TO FLIES!!!!!! I would like to give them to SOMEONE here on BBG!!!!!!!! FOR A CHANCE TO WIN, all you have to DO is wish me HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and maybe SHARE what YOU HAVE LEARNED HERE ON THE BEST SITE ON THE WEB!!!!

Here are BIG BLUEGILL BAKERS DOZEN!!!!!!

Starting at the Top LEFT is Jen's NAYBEE, WINE ZULU ( my hybrid of the PURPLE ZULU) and Her PURPLE ZULU, and Bryan W.s GREASY MONKEY!!!!!!

Middle row  Dave Kensingers LIGHTNING BUG, COPPER FLASH,  Shooters DRAGON FLY NYMPH and SINKING CRICKET in HONOR OF THE BOOGIEMAN ( pink cricket with BETTY GRABLE LEGS)!!!!!

Bottom row is Kelly Gallop's SPARKBUG ( my favorite crappie fly),  Jay Fares HOPPER-HEX, EGG-SUCKING LEACH,  BLACK WIDOW, and the BLUEGILL CANDY!!!!!!

ONE NOT PICTURED is in the VICE and will take a bit longer to finish one top water favorite of mine will remain a mystery til drawing day!!!!! P. S. it is not the FLIP FLOPPER!!!!!!!!

DRAWING DAY WILL BE NEXT MONDAY, OCTOBER THE FIRST!!!!!!!

Booby Fly?! OOOOooooo mama! I'm taking that name. My wife's going to love this. I'll make it in pink, red velvet, and black sheer..her choices. LOL

It has been a GREAT BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! and in a COUPLE more days MY GRANDTWINS are turning 2!!!!!! :-)

Greghopper I don't know what that green buggy eyed thing is but the palmering job is great that will be my next challenge when I get some feathers.

Greg, now that's a fly that I can see as a massive magnet for the stocked trouts (stocker) in this neck of the woods. It's just like the Berkeley trout dough. You nailed it!

Hey, I was going to write something anyway- but those are some nice looking flies, what an incentive!

I was going to say, glad to hear I'm not the only one here kind of new to computer stuff! It's a gas...wish I hadn't kept away from computers as long as I did. Although...it's still not as much fun as fishing! :-)

Dick, all these are WEIGHTED, about like you weighted the RUBBER LEGGED DRAGON!!!!!!!! There is one more that will be a TOP WATER!!!!!!
