Mr De Mill , I'm ready for my close up.

Went fishing between storms today, tried to take some pic with my cell phone ,caught some good ones but it's tought tryingto put them in the boat and take their pic at the same time. My porcupine quill is eight and a half inches long , this was my attempt, I'll do better next time.

Taking gills on beds

Greetings...all,,,new member here, first time post.
Just read through the posts as to "Trophy Bluegills"
as to releasing back the big uns'... I agree a must do.... What is the membership thoughts about catching and keeping the gills off the beds before spawning is completed. I do not like to take them at that time...say leave them there for them to do their thing...more gills later for al of us to enjoy... Frogg2

The Ol' Gill Getter

Recently I found myself with some extra time as I had been laid off from my job. After getting some things done around the house, the garage reorganized and of course some job searching. Tail Gunner Tactics For Gills

Hey guys and gals... I know this tactic is nothing new, but I think it deserves review.The 'tailgunner' rig for shallow bedding or feeding gills is simply the use of a small, floating crankbait with a short dropper tied to it with a dry or wet fly attached.

Overlooked Bluegill Hotspots

Hey guys and gals, I've been thinking. I know that most of the big gills we see on this site come from smaller, private waters. But I can't help but think that there are overlooked public opportunities for the vast majority of us right under our noses.

Within 1 hour of my house are several small, public lakes that are either county or local park owned lakes that get very little fishing pressure and have a good population of medium to even trophy sized bluegills.

Lake Perris

Im new to big blue gill.com. It is a really good website to discuss bluegill i have found a lake that has giant bluegill and you can leave with a stringer full of them. Lake Perris, Ca is full of Bluegill all you have to do is find a rock or cover for them in about 10 feet of water and give them a half of nightcrawler or mealworm. Then hold on to your pole !!!!!!!!

The Elusive 10" Bluegill!

Wow! My 7 year old (CJ) and I headed to a local pond to catch a couple Largemouth Bass for a species contest we entered for the month of May. Little did we know what was about to happen. CJ's first cast hooked a monster 9 inch Bluegill. We then paddled out on the kayak to a spot to fish Largemouth. No luck. I tied on CJ's favorite, a silver Panther Martin spinner. Ice jigs best bluegill lure

I just joined Big Bluegill, this site is Great!!!!! I use a size 8# teardrop jig { Blood Red or Orange} tipped with B-Moth. I use Thill bobbers with a nylon bobber stopper. I catch Big Gills in winter or Hot days of summer. My kids enjoy this technique and always have great action. Thanks for all the good information.

dont know if any of you read article in infisherman by bill bottinger bt i use the same set up he uses and love it the rod is a 7.5 foot st crox fly rod blank reel is daiwas tournament ss wisker series and the line is 3.1 tecan european stuff acailable at cabelas with this set up you can cast a 100thoz jig a 100feet check it out his web site is bbott@windstream.net best regards steve.
