Did the pond dye do it ?
Back in 2012 I had a 5/8 acre pond dug. About one forth of it is ten feet deep, the rest tapers off to nothing. After a couple years the algae started growing. Last year I used a leaf rake and went around the entire pond, a week later you couldn't tell it. This year I had three feet of algae around the edge and islands of it here and there in the middle.
