Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Splashed about 2:30 this afternoon and set my jig/minnow combination to one foot under a fixed float…..saw a few spots at 61 degrees on the surface but 59.7 degrees where I located the shallow crappie in brush piles and cypress roots….caught 37 black crappie up to 14”……..starting to get their tuxedo

Thanks Bruce and all along I thought I was keeping my addiction to panfish a secret….but yes I caught fish in less than three feet of total water depth yesterday…..just a blast….and pleasantly surprised that the sows had also pushed in…..Good luck to you guys….hope you catch a break soon….

Thanks John, I thought about everyone still battling winter as I was realizing that my local crappie have begun moving shallow, we have been very fortunate in coastal North Carolina this season……lots of rain but record highs every month and surface temperatures above 60 with a week of February still to go. I hope things begin to go the right direction for you guys John! Good luck….
