Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This dirty looking spider is an enlarged version of Cosgrove's "Punch-Out Spider." It's black foam, #10 Aberdeen hook, black thread and stretchy sili-legs.
It's so funky looking because it has been mauled by fish! 3 out of 5 times this fly lands on the water, it gets a swirl, pop or hit.
It is hell on the back cast because it catches air, so you have to stay vigilant and let no slack creep in. But get it out there, let it turn over and pay attention.
This very fly caught one of the biggest bass I've extracted from the pond. It rolled out, landed and within five seconds - whammy!! He had it and was barreling off. I thought I was gonna be in trouble, but all knots held and I cleared the stick ups around the shore.
This fly is also going to Mr. Sheehan to try his luck.
