Indeed Jeff........I have really enjoyed the pictures from Lake Perris and a few others in California.......I keep waiting for that giant Bluegill to show up......the huge RedEars from Havasu have been incredible in recent years.........I fish river systems 99% of the time in North Carolina and I don't know what our top end Bluegill might be in these brackish waters.......two pound fish appear to be rare as I've gone several years  before without seeing one but our population of ten inch class coppernose keeps me positive about my fishing retirement in coastal North Carolina.......I read alot about the King Fisher Society and the bluegill there are getting bigger every year.........

Everyone is talking about Richmond Mill, a private and expensive place to fish.  I'm cheering for our local public Lake Perris, that has tons of giant Bluegills and no doubt fish even much larger than the record 3-15.  It's a sick feeling when one of these humongous Bluegills on your line goes down into a bush or tree and breaks you off.

Yep......many of the North Carolina records come from farm ponds including a RedEar over five pounds about ten years ago.....

I wish I knew more about Mr. Danny Case's experience back in Henderson County, North Carolina on July 27,1967......most of North Carolina's record Sunfish were taken out of farm ponds including this fish and Travis Jackson's state record shellcracker @ 4 pounds 15 ounces........I fish every pond I can despite having tons of great river fishing at my back door.........We have hundreds of sand pits and dozens of old mill ponds that may hold another giant......

Is it safe for yet another year?....Over 50 years now and still the largest Bluegill ever caught outside of Ketona Lake in Alabama.....
