True John it is weird I could have measured poorly because I was hurrying on the release and I guess I also could have weighed her wrong because I don't want to hold fish vertically now for more than a couple seconds which is necessary to get a good weight... I never weigh smallmouth but I do usually measure and this fish felt like at least 20. It was definitely heavier than my 5.5lb 22" fish from last year though. She it a 1/8oz jig and chigger craw in the weeds. The scariest thing is that the fish pictured was spawned out for sure. The water temp was 77

Thanks she was "only" 19 inches but 6lbs... Incredibly fat I wish I could have measured girth
