Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Memorial Day Daily Double...Had a Half Dozen or so Mortally Hooked Deep.....

I released most of the gills this afternoon but had a couple with the jig buried deep....don't like to chance it when they bleed too heavy........

Going to look for more of these guys tomorrow.......put new line on both of my favorite spin casting reels last night to be ready for the monsters.....

It was a combination....both the return of the water that was pushed out from earlier wind tides and the rebounding temperatures Dick....I fished early yesterday and saw almost a 10 degree drop in water temps....this hurts the bluegill bite in my region, especially coppernose...they seem to be more temperature sensitive....If I was a patient man, I would have only fished from 6 to 8 last evening but I'm not....I always prefer to try and try again...I just love to wet a line period....

Do you think the water temp had something to do with there aggressiveness?

Big brutes!
Funny, I haven't had a telescoping pole on the water yet.

Who is the scary looking dude holding your fish?

You don't need more than a few of those for a good dinner!

I own one Carl but I prefer telescopic for probing heavy cover or a spincaster for reaching out.....I do occasionally throw a popping bug but more often a sinking bug from the fly rod.....
