That's a cool one. My first guess, and heavy on the guess, is a Redbreast x Pumpkinseed cross.... but I would like to say there's some BG in there, too.

Maybe a generation or two of hybridization has occurred to produce this fish?

Leo -I dont see the GSF  .I may be missing something .I see earflap and slightly Turquoise Fin tipped hues as possibly RBS and the rest of the shape and color as PS.I also see Blue gill in the gills so I am not sure .A unique fish .Great to look at!

Sure is a pretty fish! I caught some that looked very similar on the Suwannee river I think their a redbelly/bluegill mix. Very colorful, aggresive and Fun on a flyrod!

Only thing I'm sure of it's a beautiful looking fish.

I'am not great with Gill species but this is just a beautiful fish!

I believe there may be an x factor of GSF in there somewhere. Look at the unique combination of gill-ear flap shape with dorsal and pectoral fins. Tony, Bruce, Walt, anyone, chime in?

A hybrid of some kind...bluegill X redbreast, maybe?
