I could see me getting a wet butt on that...

More quite common than you think. Asians seem to start out odd mod-up design from the 1800s.

How do you get on it?? Granted, I'm just about the most uncoordinated individual you're likely to encounter, but  it looks like I would be wet long before getting in the seat!

Have you ever seen an Aqua Bike? Same idea, but "sportified."
Pretty neat, really. Add a secondary seat, a 'cockpit' separate from the riding saddle and fishing would be an option on calm water.

That was taken at Phan Thiet, Viet Nam, so yeah, it seems to be an East Asian device. I'm sure you could fish from one, but I'd want to have decking on it. Just some marine-grade plywood and indoor-outdoor carpeting would probably do. Maybe cut a hole somewhere to install a wire basket as a sort of live well, and you're all set.

They seem to be popular in China. Most of the pics I've seen of them
come from there, and they are pretty inventive.
I wonder if you could fish from one?

What will they think of next.

My wife and one of my daughters riding a mutant cross between a beater bike and a pontoon boat. With the addition of decks, this thing could have potential as a fishing boat :)
