The area here were full of trout, anywhere between 2" to 10", less than 2 feet from shoreline, and less than 2 foot of water.

You betcha. Did a recon early today at lunch time after my research in the field to see how well the panfish were doing. They were on fire! Beds were all over the place. Trout were hot as well.
