Do you love big bluegill?
Southern California very small isolated lake, no more than 10 acres.
May 9, 2012: The lake has shrunken from the previous 10acres to roughly about 8.9 acres of surface water. Max wind condition is 5mph.
The lake is impaired by bacteria and possible pathogens due to the drainage from upper Big Bear Lake icemelts as well as the local cabins' septic run-offs. Best not to ingest any water or splash water into your eyes. Make sure to wear wader! You don't want the bacteria to enter into your body via the urinary tract or anal canal.
Best place to relax and fish in your float tube. The weeds near shore or that grow in the shallow area with the depth of no more than 8ft have reached the surface due to high level of nutrients. The deepest part of the lake is near the bridge at the west side, which is 15 feet at this time.
Several huge bass have been sighted near the fallen tree at the west side. Trout get stocked regularly. Quite a trout was spawned all over the place.
Best flies to make: white dry dry, using #23 hook, floating at surface. Red and black ants no longer than 1cm long and 0.5cm wide. Small black soldier flies no more than 1.5cm long, with 2cm expanded wingspan.
