Do you love big bluegill?
Victoria was fishing with her brother in a private pond in Creston, N.C. last month when her 1/4 inch piece of night crawler was taken by this 12".....1 Pound 15 Ounce certified Green Sunfish breaking the record held by Sean Vanderburg since 2008 and by just a mere 1 ounce.......I love to see things like this......

Spectacular fish! I love it when the kids kick butt! Congrats!
Wow what a hog great job Victoria.
Yes, this fish very much resembles many of the great hybrids caught throughout the country and pictured on this page that were also caught in pond environments.......Regardless, I was happy for Victoria and it's a great specimen....As much water as I have covered in the state I have never caught a green sunfish here, catch quite a few in a lake in coastal Virginia but none from my tidal waters......
I would go further than "almost," Tony - my first thought upon seeing the photo was, "That's a hybrid bluegill, not a green sunfish." I'd bet a lot of money on it.
You Go Girl !!!!!! LOFR
way to go little lady!!! many congrats !!!
What a catch! Would love to get a look at the gill rakers on that fish.......almost looks like some bluegill genes in the mix....
YESSIR CONGRATS TO THIS YOUNG LADY and something she'll never forget.
