Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A Fanned out 10.5 " Spawner....Also on a tipped pink stinger...

I found a sand bank in a shaded creek with lots of over hanging honey suckle plants flowering.....lots of insects hitting the water which was my first clue to try this area.....unreal!

One of my favorites from Tooty's collection......I still have several I need to try and how do you not throw a Gronaw Grass Shrimp in my area.....so little time!

I know that pink fly anywhere.

I actually witnessed gills coming out of the water hitting insects in these low hanging honeysuckle flowers....I'll be working to get that on video but I'll probably never see it again! It was so neat to cast up wind of these bushes and let the bait drift into the strike zone.....I could predict the exact second of the strike for about thirty minutes......

Here's a good shot of the bait....I set it up to sink slow and it was getting crushed......fun stuff!

This was a bait that was solid last year but for 2013 Tooty added 4 pink legs and a little red flash....it's a killer combination.....I caught 30 on this one before the hook opened a bit on a couple solid gills back to back.....

15 of 76 gills today were over 10".......most were 8 to 9 but it was a CPR day so all fish were released for another day........
