Do you love big bluegill?
These fish were caught in an ancient cypress stump in two feet of water......They were working in the root ball...

Come see me Leo and I'll give you an Indoctrination of the coastal region of the Tarheel State........
Hm..NC..Looks like primed retirement state to me.
Thanks Mike.....in the middle of a three day lull from a coastal storm in the mid-atlantic region.......April is famous for teasing us a bit but normally not this late in the month........I won't complain when folks in the midwest are battling with 100 year flooding......
Nice gills Jeffrey...
Thanks for the kind words Paul....I never stop learning and even learn from some of the newest anglers we have.....
Appreciate it Carl.....This is my fourteenth year fishing these waters and I would say it took a good three to four years to learn the impacts of the wind tides, drought, runoff and low oxygen in this region, all imporatant to consistently catch fish here......For example, I caught many fish shallow in a foot or two of water yesterday morning that is not there today as a coastal storm has pushed all the water out of the northern creeks of the Albemarle Sound region......The up side from this is a good bite will come when southerly winds pile the water back up and bring thousands of food items for awaiting panfish...If you time it right, you can benefit from some of the best fishing we have here in coastal North Carolina....Trick is you only get a couple hours of this frenzy, sometimes you miss it at night but learn the water and it will pay big dividends......Good luck everyone!
I believe you have it figured out jeff!!
Thanks guys....I just try to be the man that takes advantage of what coastal N.C. has to offer Dick....Take good notes and follow my instincts, it's caught me fish for many years.....You have to first fish where quality fish live before you can catch them! ( Borrowed that one from Tony Livingston)....I'm blessed to have more than a dozen quality locations established that flourish in different conditions, thus I pay close attention to wind tides, water level and most importantly water temperature.....These factors are more important than what you fish with in my opinion.....
warm sunny skies and good water make for good fishing!! nice catch jeff!!
