Some of the research data I've read for the brackish waters here in North Carolina suggest a growth rate of 2 to 3 inches a year Ken which is very exciting since I'm a student not a teacher when it comes to the Biology of the sport....I also love to hear 20 to 40 thousand young coppernose were introduced into such and such river system......Music to my ears.......

I looked on a typical Michigan growth chart and an 8 in gill is 7 to 8 years old... wow. yep I feel real good catching an 8 incher. Jeff you are in a great neighborhood for catching the jumbo s
