Do you love big bluegill?

Fighting over a foot of rain this week but we're catching a few fish.....This fish was off the bed on the Tchefuncte River near Madisonville, Louisiana............

I think it's from the battles. Look at the various damages not only on the caudal (tail) areas, but also the pectoral fin (below the flap),  and the dorsal fin between the 8th and 9th spines. This thing gone through many epic battles and mate quite a few times.

Beautiful colors on that fish, I wonder if the fin and tail damage was caused by spawning/fanning the bed, or something else? I do see the split-tails on really big Bluegills occasionally.

The Tchefuncte River gave me some nice gills on Thursday afternoon after the sun returned....The morning was a wash out.....
