Do you love big bluegill?

Looks Like a Redear X Pumpkinseed.....Cool Looking Little Sunfish

Some sort of hybrid going on......not sure........body shape and ear tab look like a redear..........turquoise cheeks favor a pumpkinseed.....somebody will figure it out....

That IS a cool looking fish! Markings are  different than the few GSF I've caught .I would also think PS x GSF. or RE x GSF.

This one is a tough call. I agree with Tony, definitely green sunfish in it looking at those tipped fins, but with what else and how much of what else is hard to say considering the range of colors that can be seen in hybrid sunfish. The fish does have a lot a blue in it which makes it easy to see why you might think pumpkinseed. Whatever it actually is it's a cool fish.

Yeah I catch fewer Green Sunfish in my region than any other species so I'm less familiar with them......I fish a couple lakes in Virginia that stock them but other than that I don't see many and to my knowledge I've never caught a pure "greenie" in this creek but that doesn't mean much....

It looks a LOT like a BG x GSF hybrid....... one thing for sure, there's definitely some greenie in the mix!
