Only fished a couple hours......but what a great time on the water......

Thanks again Paul and Ken....i know what you mean Ken....I have some good spots right in my back yard but I'll also travel for good gill fishing...it's just what I like to do.....I commute 120 miles a day for work so going a couple miles to fish gills doesn't seem too bad in the big scheme of things....LOL

awesome quality and quantity of fish Jeff... i too look forward to seeing these excellent pics.i too am blessed to live near some great public fishing for bass, pike musky and walleye but have to drive 20 miles for a decent bluegill lake.

I'm glad you appreciate it Jeff, but I believe you could most likely catch bluegills in your bathtub at home ..the numbers are staggering ...I really looking forward to your posts ...and the upcoming blog ...Paul

I appreciate it Paul but I'm blessed to live near vast public waters that hold quality gills......The total isn't as important to me as the sustained quality as I will discuss in depth in an upcoming blog titled "82 days on the Albemarle".......the total is actually 3,711 with roughly 2,300 on Gronaw Grass Shrimp Jigs including 116 just yesterday alone.......I caught fish before I joined BBG but I have now fished some of the best baits I have ever employed from guys like Jim Gronaw, Tooty, Rick King and Leo to name a few.....It has been a lot of fun to experiment with these baits and provide real time feedback with testimony and great photos.....

Thanks Dick and Vince.....Paul I'm generally fishing jigs in the 1/32 ounce range with the hottest colors being Pink, Olive and Chartreuse.......Some of the highest yields have come from the grass shrimp line from BBG member Jim Gronaw.....a little over 2,300 fish since the 1st of May on these jigs.......I tip with live grass shrimp and crickets most often for the best results.......I've also caught more than a thousand gills this summer on what I call "Splash Jigs" which are essentially multi colored jig heads....most of which have four colors each......
